Grammy Award-winning singer, "The Queen of Country Music" Reba McEntire will reunite with Tony-winning actor Brian Stokes Mitchell for three performances of South Pacific at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this summer. Reba McEntire and Brian Stokes Mitchell had previously filmed a reading of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical for a PBS special.

American country music band Lonestar is no longer on the BNA Records roster, according to a spokesman for Sony BMG in Nashville. Mountains, the band's latest BNA CD, was released Oct. 17, 2006. With disappointing sales, the Lonestar CD is not currently ranked among the 75 titles on Billboard 's country albums chart.

Globally popular English musical group The Rolling Stones and The Velvet Underground are amongst those acts whose songs have been nominated for preservation by the American Library of Congress. Both will have albums immortalized in the National Recordings Registry, which aims to preserve recordings for generations to follow.
