A blog is a user-generated website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order.
Blogs often provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of most early blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual although some focus on photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting), and are part of a wider network of social media.
The term "blog" is a portmanteau, or, in other words, a blend of the words web and log (Web log). "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
The term blog is commonly acredited to the web-journal pioneer Travis Petler. He coined the term on his personal blog in early September of 1997 while studying at Brown University. His use of the word spread to other college campus' where other weblogs were present.
As of November 2006, blog search engine Technorati was tracking nearly 60 million blogs.
This is just my personal practice. Whenever I visit web site that provide free stuff like sourceForge.net or blog site that provides useful information, I would FIND if there's any Google ads or sponsored link(advertisement). I would then give it a click to show my support to the site owner. Wonder if anyone practice too...

When it comes to blogging, waiting to churn out the best post may not be the best thing to do. The idea is to get your opinion out. The sooner the better! Remember, there is no such thing as 'best'. It is relative!
The website will follow the garden's designer Tiggy Salt as she designs and builds the garden through her weekly blog and photo gallery. It also focuses on the garden itself with an interactive plan of the planting, and there’s an opportunity to win a pair of tickets to see the finished garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May.
I'm now level 24! Hooray! My friends list is a bit too long and barely any of you ever post in this so I'm going to slowly (and I mean SLOWLY) take you off my friends list till I get to around 99. If you have posted in my blog before you'll remain on there. Peace
